  1. Made To Be

From the recording Coming Home

In cart Not available Out of stock

This song tells the story of overcoming depression, which I struggled with for many years, by truly remembering God’s unconditional love, and the process of learning to see myself through the eyes of my Creator, thus changing my self-concept entirely. It describes deep spiritual and emotional healing that occurs when we look inside ourselves and become very honest with the fact that we are not okay, and that it’s okay to not be okay sometimes. It is about radical acceptance on all levels - and learning to see yourself as “Made in the image of God” - knowing that God makes no mistakes and that you are perfect, just the way you are.

Lyrics

They say the first cut is the deepest
But what about the hundredth time
And now you don’t know how to change your mind

Got shame locked up like a secret
Insecurity, fears and lies
A painted smile is your disguise

But look a little deeper in my eyes

If you could only see yourself
The way I see you
You should know I think your scars
Are beautiful
So why are you
Staring at the mirror, wishing you were someone else completely
You’re already who
You were made to be

They say that the grass is greener
And better on the other side
But really we’re all just trying to survive

We are not so different inside

If you could only see yourself
The way I see you
You should know I think your scars
Are beautiful
So why are you
Staring at the mirror, wishing you were someone else completely
You’re already who
You were made to be

Can’t fast forward, can’t rewind
Press pause in this moment in time
Slow it down and just be here with me

If you could only see yourself
The way I see you
You should know I think your scars
Are beautiful
So why are you
Staring at the mirror, wishing you were someone else completely
You’re already who
You were made to be

You’re already who
You were made to be
